Overview
- T-Mobile said it signed definitive agreements for a 50/50 venture with Oak Hill Capital to combine GoNetspeed and Greenlight Networks and another with Wren House to acquire i3 Broadband.
- The GoNetspeed–Greenlight platform is projected to pass more than 1.3 million households by the end of 2026, and i3 Broadband is expected to reach about 500,000 by the same time.
- The company plans about $2 billion for its stake in the Oak Hill deal targeted to close in the first half of 2027, and about $700 million for the Wren House transaction expected in the second half of 2026.
- Greenlight’s CEO said customers should see the same service and prices as the venture grows, with expansion focused on the Northeast and mid-Atlantic markets where the companies already operate.
- Both transactions require customary approvals before closing, and the reach figures reflect “households passed,” which counts homes a network can serve rather than active subscribers.
