Overview
- The suspect surrendered at 3:15 p.m. Saturday after roughly nine hours barricaded in a Pioneer Homes apartment, police said.
- The confrontation began around 6:30 a.m. with reports of a man menacing residents and cutting a dog with a machete.
- When officers arrived, the man fired from an apartment window, striking two officers in the arm and a third in the hand, and all were treated at Upstate Medical in stable condition.
