- The Mission to the Moon 1969 MoonSwatch launched on Thursday, July 16, and is capped at 1,969 numbered pieces worldwide.
- Each watch uses 11 grams of Omega’s 18K Moonshine Gold for the dial, hands, crown and pushers, with that gold melted from recycled Omega spare parts dating to the late 1960s and 1970s.
- Swatch priced the watch using the value of gold in 1969 so the retail price is about CHF 500 (roughly US$570), significantly below current gold-based costs.
- To buy one, applicants must complete an Electronic Swatch Timepiece Application (ESTA) of 32 questions with a 2 hour 15 minute time limit once started and the application window closes on July 21 at 23:59 CEST.
