Overview
- An SUV jumped a parking-lot curb and drove through the floor-to-ceiling front glass of Beijo Beauty Salon in Danvers, lodging inside the storefront on Thursday afternoon.
- The driver and two people who were inside the salon were taken to hospital with minor injuries and the driver was conscious and oriented when removed from the vehicle.
- Danvers Fire Department crews checked stabilization of the vehicle and the building before extracting the driver and the building inspector and electrical inspector later examined the site.
- Video from Sky5 and accounts from stylists reported the car was lodged in the shop and that a customer nearest the front window was thrown from her chair as staff helped customers exit.
- Beijo Beauty, which marked its first anniversary the day before, has been boarded up and will stay closed until repairs and inspections are complete, affecting service and foot traffic at the Route 1 plaza.
