Suspect in Riviera Beach FedEx Worker Killing Held Without Bail, Faces New Stalking Charge

Investigators describe a targeted attack with no broader risk to the public.

Overview

  • A FedEx employee was shot multiple times in an employee-only gate area at the company’s Riviera Beach home-delivery hub and later died at St. Mary’s Medical Center.
  • Police identified the suspect as Tyler Brandon Vidro of Boynton Beach, detained him at a Sunoco on 45th Street in West Palm Beach, and booked him into the Palm Beach County Jail.
  • Vidro is charged with premeditated first-degree murder, and a new count of aggravated stalking with a credible threat was added in the court and jail records.
  • At his first appearance, a judge ordered no bond on the murder charge, set a $10,000 bond on the stalking charge, and directed no contact with the victim’s family.
  • Detectives say the shooting was targeted and not linked to a coworker dispute, and they are reviewing a 911 call, a ShotSpotter alert, surveillance video, witness accounts, and physical evidence as FedEx offers condolences and cooperation.
