  • Ontario Mills, which reported a fire Friday around 10:30 a.m., saw crews extinguish the flames by noon and close the mall with no injuries reported.
  • Police arrested 28-year-old Luis Javier Gallegos Jr. of Rancho Cucamonga on felony arson and other counts, and set bail at $1,000,000 with a court date on April 14.
  • Fire officials said several suspicious fires were found in different stores within the same area of the mall.

  • The mall incident followed Tuesday’s arson that destroyed a 1.2 million-square-foot Kimberly-Clark warehouse, for which federal prosecutors charged 29-year-old Chamel Abdulkarim, and investigators have not linked the two cases.
