- The Supreme Court, which set up the team Wednesday, directed three senior women IPS officers to take over the case at once and receive the full case record from Gurugram police.
- The bench removed all officers who handled the investigation so far and issued show-cause notices to police officials, Child Welfare Committee members, and a doctor over an altered medical report.
- The court said local authorities tried to shield suspects, questioned the child in intimidating settings including before an accused person, and downgraded the offence from Section 6 to Section 10 of the POCSO law.
- To protect the child, the case will go to a special POCSO court led by a woman judge and all records must redact the names of the child, her parents, and her school.
