- Rahman, 36, pleaded guilty at Bolton Crown Court on Thursday, May 28, to 21 offences including 12 counts of taking indecent photographs by upskirting, voyeurism, and publishing or making sexualised AI images.
- Greater Manchester Police’s digital forensics team analysed around 1,000 images and told prosecutors the materials included category A, B and C child sexual images as well as AI‑generated deepfakes that transposed children’s faces onto adult pornographic images.
- Officers have identified 13 girls aged 13 to 16 at seven high schools in Bury, Bolton and Salford and said four further girls from two schools have not yet been traced as enquiries continue.
- Rahman was arrested in June 2025 after a parent found an image of their child circulating on social media; he remains remanded in custody and is due to be sentenced on 1 September 2026 after a psychiatric report is prepared for the court.
- GMP and the Crown Prosecution Service said the investigation is ongoing, urged the public to avoid online speculation, and asked anyone with information to contact Operation Pomerie or Crimestoppers while specialist support is offered to affected schools and families.
