Overview
- Supermicro announced on July 23, 2026 the H15 server family powered by 6th Gen AMD EPYC 9006 processors and claimed a 1.7x generational CPU performance improvement over the prior generation.
- The H15 line supports up to 256 CPU cores (512 threads) and includes purpose-built variants — Hyper, CloudDC, GrandTwin, FlexTwin, Petascale Storage, and SuperBlade — to target cloud, enterprise, storage, HPC and agentic AI workloads.
- Supermicro introduced new PCIe GPU servers that hold up to ten AMD Instinct MI350P accelerators in a 5U chassis and unveiled the liquid-cooled Supermicro AMD Helios rack-scale platform that packs 72 GPUs using MI455X accelerators alongside EPYC CPUs.
- The product set integrates AMD ecosystem components — EPYC CPUs, Instinct GPUs, AMD Pensando Pollara 400 AI NICs and the ROCm stack — and Supermicro said it will demonstrate dense FlexTwin and Helios configurations at AMD’s Advancing AI Day in San Francisco.
- Market observers flagged a modest SMCI share uptick after the launch and said the next tests will be real-world validation of large-scale performance, cost per token and supply/timing for cloud and hyperscale customers.
