Overview
- Both series published provisional 2027 calendars on Friday, July 31, 2026, that reshuffle key rounds to align with expected Formula 1 date moves and industry scheduling changes.
- SUPER GT moves its second Fuji Speedway race from early August to the penultimate weekend of Nov. 6–7 and sets Mobility Resort Motegi as the season finale on Nov. 20–21 while keeping an early-April opener at Okayama.
- Super Formula restores Suzuka as the season opener on March 12–14 and shifts its Sportsland Sugo round from August into late June to accommodate a three-week Obon-centered summer break.
- Both calendars keep competition largely on domestic circuits with multiple visits to Fuji and Suzuka and a planned return for SUPER GT to Sepang, but the schedules remain provisional with race counts and test dates to be confirmed.
- The changes respond to recent F1 calendar shifts and aim to ease heat, logistics and calendar clashes for teams and circuits, which could improve car preparation windows and reduce back-to-back event strain on personnel.
