Overview
- The City Parks Foundation, which released the full SummerStage 2026 schedule Tuesday, set a May–October season with more than 60 free and ticketed events in parks across all five boroughs.
- A May 30 benefit by Dance Gavin Dance precedes the official June 10 opening with Ledisi in Central Park in association with Blue Note Jazz Festival.
- Ticketed benefit concerts that fund the free programming include The Martinez Brothers (June 13), Elderbrook (June 20), Blues Traveler with Gin Blossoms and Spin Doctors (Aug. 15), Simple Plan with 3OH!3 and Bowling for Soup (Aug. 19), Marcus King (Sept. 12) and Charley Crockett closing the season Oct. 1.
- Free highlights feature Laurie Anderson, Spoon, Mavis Staples, De La Soul, Shaggy, the Metropolitan Opera Summer Recital Series and the Charlie Parker Jazz Festival, with shows at venues such as Rumsey Playfield, Marcus Garvey Park, Tompkins Square Park, Flushing Meadows-Corona Park and Crotona Park.
- The anniversary season honors founder Joe Killian’s access-first mission, with free shows admitted first-come under capacity limits, doors typically opening about an hour before showtime and restrictions on chairs, glass and coolers at Central Park’s Rumsey Playfield.
