Suffolk Traffic Snarled After Multiple Crashes on A14 and A1152

Emergency services are managing separate incidents causing queues that stretch onto the Orwell Bridge.

Overview

  • Suffolk Police report the A14 westbound near junction 47 at Woolpit was at a standstill after a vehicle struck the central reservation at 9:29am.
  • An earlier car–lorry collision on the junction 47A slip road was cleared off the carriageway.
  • Police were called at 4:11pm to a two-car crash on the A1152 near Melton at the Eyke Road junction, with sensors indicating a blockage back to the Wilford Bridge Road roundabout.
  • Suffolk Fire and Rescue attended the Melton scene, with emergency services remaining on site.
  • Traffic cameras show near-standstill westbound traffic on the Orwell Bridge with queues back to junction 57 for Nacton; injuries from the crashes have not been confirmed.
