Suffolk Constabulary Issues Appeal After Reported Attempt to Lure Teen Into Car in Ipswich

Extra patrols are in place as officers pursue leads in the open investigation.

Overview

  • The incident occurred at about 11:20am on 6 February near Felixstowe Road and Hines Road, when two men in a small blue car approached a teenage girl and asked her to get in.
  • She ran toward Murray Road Park and screamed, prompting the men to return to the vehicle and drive off toward Felixstowe Road, leaving her shaken but unharmed.
  • Officers searched the area but did not find the car or its occupants, and the case remains under investigation with no arrests.
  • Police released suspect descriptions: a black male in his late teens or early 20s with dark afro-style hair wearing a black ski mask, black puffer jacket and grey trousers, and a white male of similar age with blonde hair and medium build in a light-grey Nike Tech tracksuit.
  • Suffolk Constabulary is appealing for witnesses and dashcam, CCTV or doorbell footage, asking people to contact South CID quoting crime reference 37/7326/26, as local councillors commend the girl and urge vigilance without alarm.
