Overview
- Josef Zielinski, 33, was sentenced on February 6 at Ipswich Crown Court to four years in prison following guilty pleas to drug and driving offences, two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and criminal damage.
- The court imposed two years and nine months for possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and one year and three months for dangerous driving to run consecutively, with shorter concurrent terms for the assaults and criminal damage.
- Zielinski also received a three-year driving disqualification.
- During a November 8 stop in Sudbury, he reversed as officers stood at the doors, forcing PC Owen Turner to jump into the vehicle while another officer was knocked over and dragged before the car hit a stationary vehicle.
- Police recovered 10 wraps of cocaine discarded beneath the car, both officers sustained minor injuries, footage captured the incident, and PC Turner later said he feared he might die.
