Police are using seized phones, CCTV and hospital records to track suspects after street robberies escalated into shootings.

Overview

  • Authorities in Realengo registered the case at the 33ª DP, seized motorcycles and cellphones from the detained suspect, and report that a second suspect reportedly entered a health unit and has not been located.
  • In São Paulo's Pinheiros three men on a motorcycle approached two people on Rua Bianchi Bertoldi, a 24-year-old resisted, was shot three times, underwent surgery at Hospital das Clínicas and remains hospitalized.
  • Security-camera footage from Pinheiros shows the approach and at least two gunshots, and the assailants in that incident fled the scene and remain unidentified as police continue their inquiries.
