STF Constable, Two Suspects Killed in Pre-Dawn Bihar Raid After Viral Threat

Police say the operation followed a viral audio threat traced to a Nepal-based number.

Overview

  • An early-morning gunfight around 2:30 am in Ramdiha village under Chakia police station, East Champaran, left STF constable Shriram Yadav and two alleged criminals dead.
  • Killed suspects were identified as Kundan Thakur and Priyanshu Kumar, also known as Priyanshu Dubey, both named in prior cases including under the Arms Act.
  • Police said a joint STF–district team moved in on specific intelligence after tracing the caller linked to the viral threat, and the suspects opened fire before officers retaliated.
  • Two associates, Ujjawal Kumar Tiwari and Sant Kumar Tiwari, were arrested at the scene, and officers recovered a cache that included a carbine, pistols, country-made firearms and multiple cartridges.
  • Security has been tightened in the Chakia area as investigations continue, with reports of a separate Patna operation that led to five arrests and the seizure of rifles, a revolver and over 50 cartridges.
