Stellantis Orders Urgent UK Recall of 10,000 Diesel Cars and Vans Over Water Pump Fault

The move extends a run of 2026 safety actions across Stellantis brands.

Overview

  • Stellantis announced the recall Friday for vehicles built from October 2025 to February 2026 with its 1.5-litre BlueHDi diesel engine.
  • A defective water pump pulley can shed its sprocket, which could cut engine power and drop small parts onto the road.
  • The action covers models from Citroën, DS, Fiat, Peugeot and Vauxhall, including the Peugeot 208 and 308, Vauxhall Astra and Corsa, and Fiat Doblo and Scudo.
  • Affected owners will be contacted to book free inspections and repairs, with replacement parts to be fitted where needed.
  • This follows a February recall for the 1.2-litre PureTech engine over fire risk and an earlier April recall of about 44,000 UK vehicles for a separate fire-related fault.
