Steam April Survey Charts RTX 50 Series Growth as RTX 5050 Debuts

The figures point to NVIDIA’s Blackwell line building share over AMD’s newest cards.

  • Valve’s April 2026 Steam Hardware & Software Survey adds the GeForce RTX 5050 to the list for the first time, with both laptop and desktop entries and a share near 0.17%.
  • Across the RTX 50 lineup, adoption tops 10% of surveyed users, led by the RTX 5070 at about 3% and with the RTX 5060 also ranked in Steam’s Top 10.
  • AMD’s RDNA 4 footprint stays small in the same data, with the Radeon RX 9070 at roughly 0.17–0.18% and other RX 9000 models not yet visible.
  • Steam’s VRAM breakdown shows 16 GB cards at 23.51% versus 26.76% for 8 GB, and roughly 49.95% of players now use GPUs with more than 8 GB.
  • The GeForce RTX 3060 remains the most used GPU at about 4.15%, with TweakTown reporting a rumored 12 GB retail return this summer tied to AI data centers soaking up GPU and GDDR7 supply.
