Starz Develops ‘Bone Parish’ With Curtis ‘50 Cent’ Jackson as Executive Producer

The move signals Starz’s bet on darker, horror-tinged franchise TV driven by its ongoing collaboration with Jackson.

Overview

  • Starz announced on June 30 that it is developing a TV adaptation of Cullen Bunn and Jonas Scharf’s graphic novel Bone Parish with Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson attached to executive produce through G-Unit Film & Television.
  • The series is set in New Orleans and centers on the Winters family, who build a criminal empire around a drug made from the ashes of the dead that gives users vivid, haunting visions of the past.
  • Diane Ademu-John and Declan de Barra will co-showrun and executive produce the project, and BOOM! Studios executives Stephen Christy and Mette Norkjaer are also attached as executive producers.
  • Starz framed the development as part of its push to expand wholly owned series and deepen its multi-project partnership with Jackson, which already includes the Power franchise and the upcoming Fightland due July 31.
  • The project is currently in development with a logline and key creative hires announced but no confirmed series order, casting, filming dates, budget, or premiere timeline.
