- Bethesda’s Free Lanes update is live across platforms and introduces Cruise Mode as a real-time way to travel within a star system.
- Players activate Cruise from a HUD prompt, then steer, boost speed, lock a target for autopilot, and get up to walk the ship during transit.
- Random Free Lanes encounters can appear en route, adding NPC interactions, debris fields, and other activity near points of interest.
- Cruise Mode unlocks after the early main quest One Small Step, which takes you to New Atlantis to join the Constellation faction.
