Star Fox Tops Famitsu Boxed Charts as Switch 2 Leads Weekly Hardware Sales

A strong boxed debut for Star Fox highlights ongoing consumer demand for Switch 2 hardware in Japan.

  • Famitsu’s estimate for the week of June 22–28 shows Star Fox on Switch 2 opened at 41,680 physical copies, making it the top new boxed release in Japan.
  • Switch 2 led console hardware that week with 24,879 units sold and a tracked lifetime install base of about 5.965 million units.
  • The PlayStation 5 family recorded 9,896 weekly boxed hardware sales while the combined three Switch models totaled 7,068 boxed units and Xbox Series sold 361 boxed units.
  • Tomodachi Life remained a strong boxed seller at number two with 28,543 copies that week and several other recent releases such as Powerful Pro Baseball and Elliot continued to shape June’s boxed rankings.
  • Famitsu’s figures cover only Japan’s physical retail channel, exclude digital and overseas sales, and full rankings for positions 11–30 will be published by Famitsu on July 3.
