Overview
- GSC Game World announced Monday that the paid expansion Cost of Hope will arrive on August 20, 2026 for PC, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5.
- The same day the studio will ship Update 2.0 as a free download for all owners to move the game from Unreal Engine 5.1 to 5.5.4 and deliver technical and content improvements.
- Cost of Hope returns players as protagonist Skif and opens new zones including the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant and the Iron Forest in a story focused on rising tensions between the Duty and Freedom factions.
- GSC has not disclosed the expansion’s price yet but says it will be sold separately and included in Deluxe and Ultimate editions with fuller details to follow in the coming weeks.
- The launch and engine migration mark a major milestone for a game that debuted in 2024 with serious bugs and performance problems, after two years of patches and ongoing developer work to stabilise and expand the experience.
