Stalin Joins Chennai Protest, Sets Oct. 14 Assembly Vote on Gaza Ceasefire Resolution

The move seeks to pressure the Union government on what state leaders call a humanitarian emergency in Gaza.

Overview

  • The protest brought together leaders from DMK, Congress, CPI, VCK, MDMK, IUML, MMK and others under CPI(M) state secretary P. Shanmugam.
  • CPI(M) reiterated demands that the Union government cancel agreements with Israel and bar Israeli firms from the AeroDefCon 2025 defence conclave.
