St. Petersburg to Host NASCAR Truck and IndyCar Doubleheader in March 2027

Promoters said strong 2026 attendance drove the return with tickets scheduled to go on sale this fall.

Overview

  • Green Savoree announced Thursday that the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg will run March 5–7, 2027, with the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series racing on Saturday, March 6, and the NTT IndyCar Series opening its season on Sunday, March 7.
  • Track CEO Kim Green cited “tremendous” three-day spectator numbers from the 2026 doubleheader as the primary reason both series will share the downtown weekend again.

  • The event will return to the 1.8-mile, 14-turn temporary street circuit that uses downtown streets and the Albert Whitted Airport runway, a layout that produced crossover entries and a festival atmosphere that promoters said boosted local fan engagement.
