Overview
- The shooting took place Monday, Aug. 10, after officers answered a domestic-assault call and located a suspect near 12th Street by Regions Hospital who ran from officers and then pulled an object that appeared to be a handgun.
- The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension identified the officer as Jacob Pederson, a 12-year St. Paul police veteran who fired his department-issued weapon and has been placed on critical-incident leave.
