- SRT revealed eBoost Air in a Grand Cherokee SRT prototype on Thursday as a rapid-development proof of concept that force-feeds compressed air upstream of the Hurricane 3.0L twin turbos to reduce lag.
- The system is designed to broaden and linearize the engine’s powerband so the turbo six feels more like a supercharged V8 without raising peak horsepower.
- SRT says eBoost Air requires a 48‑volt electrical architecture and does not recover spent energy, which means production cars may need extra battery or electrical hardware to supply the system.
