Sri Lanka Names Jamie Siddons Head Coach of Women’s Team on One-Year Deal

The Australian coach is tasked with readying Sri Lanka for this summer’s T20 World Cup in England.

Overview

The one-year deal starts March 16, with a Bangladesh tour in April–May his first assignment ahead of the June–July T20 World Cup in England.
He succeeds Rumesh Ratnayake, whose tenure concluded at the end of 2025.
Siddons brings Level 3 coaching credentials and prior head-coach roles with Bangladesh’s men (2007–2011), South Australia, and Wellington.
He enjoyed a lengthy first-class career in Australia and captained South Australia and Victoria.
Sri Lanka’s women enter the transition in good form after winning the ODI series 2–1 and T20I series 2–0 against the West Indies, with one T20I washed out.
