Square Enix Reveals Final Fantasy XIV: Evercold for January 2027

The next saga introduces sweeping changes to cut daily chores, shifting progression to clear weekly goals.

  • Square Enix, which unveiled the expansion on Friday at Fan Festival 2026 in Anaheim, set a January 2027 launch and confirmed Evercold as the opener to the Godless Realms saga.
  • Naoki Yoshida announced a battle-system overhaul with two modes called Reborn and Evolved, with new jobs playable only in Evolved to emphasize distinct job identities.
  • Everkold raises the level cap to 110 and adds new cities, areas, dungeons, trials, an Ultimate, and an Evangelion crossover alliance raid titled Ghosts of Desire created with khara, Inc.
  • Patch 7.5 Part 1 arrives April 28 to start the story bridge into Evercold, and the same day the Free Trial expands to include the Shadowbringers expansion up to Patch 5.58.
