Overview
- Square Enix revealed the game during Nintendo Direct on Wednesday and set a worldwide release date of February 16, 2027 for Switch, Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
- The remake rebuilds towns and dungeons in full 3D, redesigns character art, and includes full voice acting plus newly arranged tracks supervised by original composer Kenji Ito.
- Core SaGa systems carry over, including eight selectable protagonists whose choices shape the story, the Glimmer ability-acquisition mechanic, turn-based timeline battles, formations and United Attacks, and over 20 recruitable companions.
- Players can choose Casual, Normal or Classic (Hard) difficulty, switch between the new and original soundtracks, and buy standard physical or digital editions or a Digital Deluxe edition with pre-orders open now and a PlayStation Store pre-order bonus available through February 15, 2027.
- The announcement follows a prior Brazilian classification leak and builds on the series’ history dating to the 1995 Super Famicom original and the 2019 remaster, a move that could draw both new players and longtime fans back to SaGa’s non‑linear design.
