Overview
- Springdale officers responded early Tuesday morning to the Extended Stay Suites on Glensprings Drive and found a man suffering from gunshot wounds in a second-floor room.
- The victim, later identified as 30-year-old Charles Carr of Cincinnati, was taken to Bethesda North Hospital and died from his injuries.
- Police say the shooter fired multiple rounds from an exterior balcony outside Room 232 while the victim, the child's mother, and a one-year-old were inside; the mother and child were not injured.
- Officers recovered surveillance footage, a firearm, and clothing the suspect removed after the shooting, and they found and arrested 20-year-old Nigel Norman hiding in a nearby motel laundry room.
- Norman faces charges including murder and felonious assault and is being held pending arraignment while investigators continue to interview witnesses and review evidence.
