Overview
- Coach Rassie Erasmus closed the second in-person alignment camp in Cape Town on Thursday after two gatherings that involved more than 60 players across the programme.
- The camps combined boardroom strategy sessions, gym work and a SARU House briefing to teach Springbok structures to newcomers and returning players.
- Ten uncapped players were included in the Cape Town cohort and were deliberately exposed to the national set-up as potential Test candidates later this year.
- Erasmus said most camp goals were met but that the measures of success must come on the field when on-field preparations start in early June.
- A first training squad will be named in roughly two weeks to prepare for the Barbarians warm-up in Gqeberha on 20 June and the Nations Championship Tests in July.
