Spring & Mulberry Expands Nationwide Chocolate Recall After Salmonella Found in Testing

Routine third-party checks by a contract manufacturer flagged a Mint Leaf lot, prompting a precaution that now covers multiple flavors.

Overview

  • The voluntary recall now includes eight flavors and numerous lot codes of date-sweetened bars sold online and through select U.S. retailers since Sept. 15, 2025.
  • Spring & Mulberry broadened an initial Jan. 12 recall of Mint Leaf lot 025255 on Jan. 14 to include items produced at the same time on the same equipment.
  • FDA posted the company notices, which report no confirmed illnesses to date as officials remind that Salmonella can cause severe disease in vulnerable people.
  • Affected items can be identified by flavor and specific lot codes printed on the back of the box and inner wrapper, with examples including Earl Grey #025258 and Pure Dark Minis #025273.
  • Customers are instructed to throw away recalled bars and request a refund or replacement by emailing recalls@springandmulberry.com with a photo of the lot code.
