Spotify Launches Page Match to Sync Books With Audiobooks, Partners With Bookshop.org for In‑App Sales

Camera scans match passages across formats without saving images.

Overview

  • Page Match is rolling out now on iOS and Android for audiobook listeners, with most English‑language titles supported by late February and access for all users by Feb. 23.
  • Readers can scan a page from a physical book or e‑reader to jump to the exact audiobook moment, then scan again to locate the matching spot back in print.
  • Feature access follows plan rules: Premium and Audiobook+ members use it within their monthly audiobook hours, and free users can use it with audiobooks they purchase on Spotify.
  • Physical book buying inside Spotify arrives later this spring in the U.S. and U.K. through Bookshop.org, which will handle pricing, inventory and fulfillment to support independent bookstores.
  • Spotify says Page Match uses computer vision and text matching rather than AI and does not retain captured images, while its Audiobook Recaps feature is slated to reach Android this spring.
