Spencer Pratt’s Father Called 911 and Tried to Fight Pacific Palisades House Fire

Los Angeles firefighters contained the fast-moving blaze with no injuries reported as investigators probe the cause.

Overview

  • The heavy fire broke out at a two-story home under construction on Northfield Street just before 4 p.m. on Friday and was reported to the Los Angeles Fire Department by William Pratt, who made the 911 call.
  • William Pratt told NBC Los Angeles he tried to extinguish the flames with a hose but had to spend minutes locating and hooking it up; LAFD confirmed a neighbor sprayed water but said it could not corroborate Pratt’s account of actively hosing before crews arrived.
  • LAFD crews arrived about six minutes after the call, launched an offensive attack with roughly 34 firefighters, and stopped the blaze’s growth in about 20 minutes.
  • No injuries were reported, the property owner expressed gratitude to responders, and officials say the cause of the fire is under investigation.
  • The house had minor damage and lost a detached garage in the Jan. 7, 2025 Palisades Fire, a history that has drawn public attention because Spencer Pratt lost his home in that blaze and later criticized city officials over the response.
