Spain’s November Hotel Stays Edge Up as Foreign Demand Offsets Softer Domestic Travel

International tourists drove modest growth with firmer pricing, INE reports.

  • Hotels logged just over 20.3 million overnight stays in November, up 1.6% year on year, as nights by non‑residents rose 3% and those by residents fell 0.7%, according to INE.
  • Occupancy reached 53.7% of available places, up 0.6 points, while the hotel price index increased 3.9% and key revenue metrics also improved (ADR €117.1, +3%; RevPAR €77.5, +5.1%).
  • The Canary Islands captured 42.6% of international nights and recorded the highest occupancy at 74.3%, with Tenerife and the south of Gran Canaria standing out.
  • Murcia posted its best November on record with 113,391 travelers and 241,404 nights, powered by strong foreign gains in travelers (+27.2%) and nights (+33.4%).
  • Regional divergence persisted as Castilla‑La Mancha nights rose 2.4% and Córdoba saw visitors up 3.7%, contrasting with a 6.6% decline in hotel nights in Galicia.
