Overview
- Social Security affiliation increased by 31,462 in September to about 21.67 million, with seasonally adjusted growth near 56,000.
- Registered unemployment fell by 4,846 to 2,421,665, the lowest September level since 2007 excluding the pandemic years.
- Education led the rebound with roughly 61,000–64,000 hires, offsetting job losses in commerce and hospitality.
- Migrant workers accounted for about six in ten new occupied persons, and self-employment (RETA) rose by 7,581 to around 3.41 million.
- Hiring remained brisk with about 1.53 million contracts signed and 43% indefinite, as regions diverged with declines in Catalonia, the Canary Islands and the Valencian Community and an increase in Andalusia.
