- The flag was delivered on February 12 in the courtyard of Valencia’s Comisaría de Zapadores to the Jefatura Superior de la Policía Nacional in the Valencian Community, in an event presided over by Interior Minister Fernando Grande-Marlaska.
- Business leader and philanthropist Hortensia Herrero served as madrina, describing the handover as an act of confidence in a police force defined by professionalism, dedication and a vocation for service.
- Grande-Marlaska announced the second phase of the Zapadores complex rehabilitation will finish this semester after more than €30 million in investment.
- Senior attendees included Police Director General Francisco Pardo, Deputy Operational Director José Ángel González, Government Delegate Pilar Bernabé and regional emergencies chief Juan Carlos Valderrama, with Herrero accompanied by her husband, Juan Roig, and their children.
- Under Royal Decree 927/2015 the flag authorizes ceremonial use by the National Police and half-mast honors, and the Valencian Jefatura becomes the tenth to receive the national standard.
