Spain Updates 2026 Motorway Tolls With Rises Up to 4.68% as Alicante AP-7 Ring Road Becomes Free

Overview

  • The AP-9 posts the biggest rise at 4.68%, with Vigo-area segments climbing over 5% and trips such as Vigo–Pontevedra reaching €5.05 and A Coruña–Vigo about €21.4.
  • SEITT-operated routes apply a 2% increase and keep toll-free travel between 00:00 and 06:00 throughout 2026.
  • The AP-7 Alicante bypass between Monforte del Cid and El Campello is now permanently toll-free following cabinet approval on 9 December.
  • The AP-68 is slated to become free on 11 November 2026, though foral authorities in the Basque Country and possibly Navarra could later reintroduce charges on their stretches.
  • Castilla y León’s 2026 budget plans roughly €10 million in discounts for habitual users on the AP-6, AP-51, AP-61 and AP-71, with an extension to the AP-66 under review.
