Overview
- The Council of Ministers approved Tuesday a €260 million transfer to Casa 47 to fund 22 developments that will provide 1,629 rental homes across eleven autonomous communities.
- With this tranche, total funds moved to Casa 47 reach €2,080 million and the agency now has 44 active projects to build about 3,266 homes plus 24 additional sites with potential for roughly 22,000 dwellings.
- The Ministry of Housing said regions will receive the first €800 million of the Plan Estatal de Vivienda 2026–2030 in July as part of a broader €7 billion programme to boost construction, rehabilitation and rental support.
- The plan pairs new building with adaptation of some 40,000 homes from Sareb and other public entities and includes demand-side measures such as rental vouchers up to €300, full rent support for vulnerable households, up to €15,000 for young buyers in small towns, and subsidies for rent-to-buy.
- The government says Casa 47 will run long-term, affordable rentals with contract stability and rent limits tied to tenants’ incomes, a change meant to reduce private-market pressure and make housing costs more predictable for workers and families.
