- Spain's food-safety agency AESAN issued the warning after receiving a RASFF notification from the Netherlands about a choking hazard linked to the Japanese product.
- The item is identified as Sanrio's 'Gelatina Hello Kitty de manzana y konjak', sold in plastic bags with individual sachets, 150 g, best-before 11-06-2026, stored at ambient temperature.
- Initial distribution in Spain covered 11 regions, including Andalusia, Aragón, Asturias, Balearic Islands, Canary Islands, Cantabria, Castile and León, Catalonia, Galicia, Madrid and Valencia, with possible further redistribution under review.
- AESAN has activated Spain's SCIRI network so regional authorities can verify and remove all affected stock from shops and warehouses without delay.
- Consumers who have the product at home are advised not to eat it while authorities trace and withdraw remaining lots.
