- AESAN ordered a national withdrawal after Aragón health authorities detected Listeria monocytogenes in a Goya fresh cow cheese on May 12.
- The recall now covers all lots of refrigerated fresh cow cheeses from Goya, Nativo, Sabor de Casa and Cerrato with use-by dates on or before July 6, 2026.
- These cheeses have been sold across most of Spain through large supermarket chains and many small retailers that serve Latin American communities.
- Consumers are told not to eat the listed products, to avoid cross-contamination at home, and to seek medical care for symptoms of listeriosis with special urgency for pregnant people.
- Production lines for the affected cheeses have been paused while regional authorities verify removals and investigate causes under alert ES2026/271 using the SCIRI rapid-notification system, which may shrink local supply where these products are popular.
