Overview
- Registration for Verano Joven 2026 opened on Wednesday and the Ministry of Transport portal is live for eligible applicants to request a personal discount code.
- Renfe and other operators have put discounted tickets on sale for travel between July 1 and September 30, 2026, and codes will be sent by SMS or email for use when buying tickets.
- Discounts range from up to 90% on state regular buses and medium-distance trains to 50% on Avant, long-distance and high-speed services with a €30 maximum reduction per ticket, plus 50% off the Interrail Global Flexible pass when bought via Renfe.
- To get a code applicants must register online with DNI or NIE, wait at least 24 hours before their first purchase, and use a personal non-transferable code that may be revoked for repeated misuse.
- The fourth edition carries about €130 million in transport subsidies and builds on a programme that since 2023 has served more than 4 million young people for over 16 million discounted trips, a record uptake that the government says will boost public transport use and local tourism.
