Spain Awards €27.3 Million in Provisional PERTE VEC IV Battery Grants to Six Firms

The partial resolution signals Spain’s push to localize battery supply chains under a €1.25 billion program run by Sepides.

  • The published resolutions detail projects and eligible budgets, including BorgWarner’s new production lines in Vigo for battery thermal management components with a €6.78 million eligible budget supported by a €1.01 million grant.
  • Resonac in A Coruña secured €2.7 million to advance a large-scale sustainable graphite plant for battery anodes, with an eligible investment of €18.2 million.
  • Several applications were denied, notably InoBat Iberia in Valladolid for failing to reach the minimum score threshold, and all awards remain provisional pending final approval.
