SpaceX Targets Vandenberg Starlink Launch Poised To Top 10,000 Satellites

Reusable Falcon 9 operations are driving the constellation’s rapid buildout this week.

Overview

  • SpaceX plans to launch Starlink Group 17-24 from Vandenberg on March 16 during a 7:37–11:37 p.m. PT window, with liftoff targeted for 8:39:30 p.m. PDT.
  • The mission will deploy 25 satellites and is expected to push the active broadband network beyond 10,000 spacecraft for the first time.
  • Falcon 9 booster B1088 will make its 14th flight and target a droneship recovery on Of Course I Still Love You in the Pacific about eight minutes after liftoff.
  • The rocket will fly a southerly trajectory from SLC-4E, limiting visibility in Arizona, with a SpaceX livestream available on the company’s website and X TV app.
  • A high-cadence lineup follows with a Cape Canaveral Starlink launch early March 17, Isar Aerospace’s Spectrum return-to-flight from Norway on March 19, and another Vandenberg Starlink mission on March 20.
