SpaceX Set for Late-Night EchoStar 25 Launch From Cape Canaveral

The commercial flight highlights SpaceX’s reusable Falcon 9 cadence under a 90% weather outlook.

Overview

  • Liftoff is targeted for 11:19 p.m. EDT at the opening of a 149-minute window from SLC-40, sending the satellite to a geosynchronous transfer orbit en route to 110° West.
  • The Falcon 9 first stage is flying for the 14th time and will aim for a downrange landing on the droneship A Shortfall of Gravitas.
  • Space Launch Delta 45 forecasts a 90% chance of acceptable conditions during the window, rising to 95% in the event of a 24-hour delay.
  • Built by Lanteris on its 1300-series bus, EchoStar 25 will serve Dish Network as a direct broadcast TV satellite, with a sister spacecraft, EchoStar 26, slated for 2028.
  • This is the 17th Space Coast launch of the year, with all but one flown by SpaceX as ULA’s Vulcan schedule faces delays following a booster issue.
