Space42 Adds Three ICEYE-Built Radar Satellites, Expanding Foresight Constellation to Five

The UAE firm pairs 25 cm SAR imaging with its GIQ AI platform to deliver faster decision-grade geospatial intelligence.

Overview

  • Foresight-3, Foresight-4 and Foresight-5 lifted off on SpaceX’s Bandwagon-4 rideshare via Exolaunch from Cape Canaveral and have established contact with early routine operations underway in low Earth orbit.
  • The additions bring Space42’s radar-imaging fleet to five satellites following launches in August 2024 and January 2025, with full constellation maturity targeted for 2027.
  • ICEYE manufactured the spacecraft in Finland, which were then integrated and tested at Space42’s Assembly, Integration and Testing facility in Abu Dhabi before shipment to the United States for launch.
  • Each satellite delivers 25-centimeter SAR imagery that feeds Space42’s GIQ AI analytics for daily revisit rates, sharper change detection and lower latency insights.
  • Space42 and ICEYE say the program strengthens UAE sovereign Earth-observation capability, enables persistent coverage of key mid-latitude regions and supports disaster response and environmental monitoring, citing uses in Turkey in 2023 and UAE flooding in 2024.
