- The Statistisches Bundesamt found the lowest price levels for restaurant and hotel services in North Macedonia (−52%) and Bulgaria (−47%), meaning such services cost roughly half of what they do in Germany.
- Other southern destinations were substantially cheaper, with Montenegro −39%, Portugal −30%, Spain −22%, Malta −20%, Cyprus −19% and Greece −18%, while Croatia (−9%) and Italy (−2%) were only slightly cheaper than Germany.
- Several neighbouring and western countries were pricier for German travellers, including Czechia −30% and Poland −12% on the cheaper side but Austria +1%, Belgium +13%, the Netherlands +14%, Denmark +29% and Switzerland +49% on the more expensive side.
