Overview
- The transport ministry confirmed core technologies are finished, with a designed maximum speed of 407 kph and planned operating speed of 370 kph.
- The R&D ran from April 2022 to December 2025 under the Korea Railroad Research Institute with seven partners, funded by 22.5 billion won including 18 billion won from the government.
- Deliverables include a 560 kW high-efficiency traction motor, more than 10 percent running-resistance reduction, improved suspension and interior noise control, and new evaluation and safety standards.
