South Africa Women to Tour Zimbabwe for Five T20Is

The September series offers Zimbabwe a home opportunity to rebuild after failing to qualify for the 2026 T20 World Cup.

Overview

  • Zimbabwe Cricket announced on May 29, 2026 that South Africa Women will play five T20 internationals at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo from September 11 to 19.
  • Fixtures are scheduled for September 11, 13, 15, 17 and 19 with the opening match marking the first senior women’s bilateral T20I meeting between the two nations in Zimbabwe.
  • Cricket South Africa CEO Pholetsi Moseki and Zimbabwe Cricket Managing Director Givemore Makoni welcomed the tour as an important step for visibility and growth of women’s cricket in the region.
  • The two senior teams have met only twice before at senior level, both in 2017 ODIs, so the series expands competitive opportunities for Zimbabwe after lengthy overseas tours to Pakistan and New Zealand.
  • Beyond immediate competition, the series is expected to give Zimbabwe players experience against top opposition, help rebuild the national side after the Global Qualifier setback, and raise the profile of women’s cricket at home while details on squads and ticketing remain pending.
