Overview
- Cricket South Africa confirmed on Thursday that India’s December tour has been revised to run from December 9 to 30 and will now include a one-off Test, three ODIs and three T20Is.
- The Test remains scheduled for St George’s Park in Gqeberha from December 9–12, the three ODIs are set for Paarl, Cape Town and Bloemfontein on December 16, 19 and 22, and the T20Is will be played on December 26, 29 and 30 in Benoni and Potchefstroom.
- CSA chief executive Pholetsi Moseki said the added T20Is are intended to sharpen both teams’ preparations for the inaugural ICC Women’s Champions Trophy in Sri Lanka in February 2027.
- The three ODIs form part of the ICC Women’s Championship that feeds 2029 World Cup qualification, while the schedule change removes a clash with South Africa’s men’s Test versus England and extends India’s stay by about a week.
- The move follows South Africa’s strong T20 results over India in 2026 and comes as part of a crowded home summer that may require further date adjustments for other tours.
